10,000 lift tickets – $10 on January 10, 2013: big happens in New York State

Ski resorts throughout New York State’s 11 regions will be offering discount lift tickets for skiing or snowboarding.

From now until January 9, 2013, the Ski Areas of New York (SANY) are teaming up to offer 10,000 lift tickets for just $10 each, to be used for a one-day skiing extravaganza on January 10, 2013, providing the perfect opportunity to hit the slopes in the state with more ski areas than anywhere else in the nation.

Union: ‘Very high chance’ of Boeing strike in February

Boeing engineers may be ready to strike as early as February.

“I think there is a very high chance of a strike,” said Ray Goforth, executive director of the Society of Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA).

His warning came during a break in the talks, which this week were suspended at the request of federal mediators until January — supposedly a “cooling-off period.”

Cathay Pacific, Singapore fined for price fixing

An Australian court has fined Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines for price fixing.

The conduct included an attempt by Singapore Airlines Cargo to fix rates for meat exports going to US and Australian troops stationed in the Middle East.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) took action against the two airlines as part of a broader cartel conduct case.
