Discounted holiday events make for rich seasonal travel

Holiday events are usually part of your holiday travel plans. AOL Travel/Gadling has compiled a list of events you may not want to miss.

Five airport spots to score this winter’s flu shot

You’re traveling this winter and you’ve got a layover. If you’re lucky enough to be at one of five airports, you can get a flu shot if you haven’t gotten one yet.

The O’Hare Medical Clinic in Terminal 2 offers up seasonal influenza vaccines, and it sounds like they’ll even do a little bit more. Appointments aren’t necessary, and you can even swing by for a general tune-up — think cholesterol screenings, other vaccinations, and stuff like that. If you can’t make it to the main clinic they’ll be setting up some kiosks, too, so just look around while heading towards your gate.

New software aims to deliver personal touch to online booking

Until now, the key difference between the traditional travel agents and online travel agencies (OTAs) is the interaction you can have between the consumer and the agent. A new software aims to change that.

Now [OTAs are] appealing to consumers’ emotions with inspirational tools such as Travel Seeker HD and Featured Results, both offered by Amadeus, and Vayant’s FastSearch.
