London’s Heathrow Airport on red alert after terror threats

Heathrow airport is on red alert after reports that Al Qaeda is plotting attacks.

“There are genuine fears over this. We have been told to pay particular attention to females who may have concealed hidden explosives in their breasts. This is particularly difficult for us to pick up but we are on a very high state of alert,” an airport staff member was quoted by the daily as saying.

Union begins weekly picket of Las Vegas casino

Union members are starting a twice-a-day weekend picket at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas.

Culinary Union leaders say they’ve stalled on major issues with Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and casino owner Deutsche Bank. Labor and management have been negotiating a contract for two years, sparring over wages, health care and job security.

Bombardier could be hurt by opposition to American Airlines merger

Bombardier could be hurt if the American Airlines/US Airways merger is blocked.

[Analyst Turan Quettawala of Scotia Capital] says the government’s intervention is more negative for Bombardier (TSX:BBD.B) than Brazilian rival Embraer because the Canadian manufacturer was viewed as the favorite since American Eagle is already a big operator of Bombardier’s CRJ700.
