What we’re reading: Spirit Airlines’ hate fliers, Frankfurt flights disrupted due to strike, Instagram tips

Spirit Airlines taps a nation of hate fliers

There are those people who like flying a certain airline because the fares are so cheap, despite having to pay all of those fees. However, there’s another class of fliers who begrudgingly fly an airline. Spirit Airlines has one of those classes.

The hate flier is the guy who knows what he’s getting into, doesn’t like it, but flies Spirit anyway because it’s so cheap.

On our flight back to New York, a bunch of the passengers around us said they’d never fly Spirit again.

Flights disrupted by Frankfurt airport strike

A strike by security staff at Frankfurt Airport caused delays and cancellations on Friday.

The Verdi union had called on around 5,000 staff who carry out security checks on passengers, baggage and freight at the airport to strike for the entire day to push for their pay to be brought into line with counterparts at other German airports.

How to take good Instagram photos when you travel

Instagram boasts 150 million active users. If you’re one of them and you want to share your travel photos on Instagram, here are some tips to let you share good ones.

1. Get high

Everything looks better, or at least different, when seen from above.

Viewing platforms, sky bars, cable car rides and overhead walkways are great for expansive perspectives.

If you’re shooting through a window, get your lens as close to the glass as possible to reduce unwanted light reflections.
